A Day in CNC Machining Workshop

Here is the standard daily working procedure for machining workshop operators, covering the whole process from preparation to finished product delivery.

  1. Daily Preparation
    Check machine tools, equipment power, lubrication and cooling system. Clean the working area and confirm today’s production schedule and processing drawings.
  2. Material Checking and Loading
    Verify raw material size, material grade and appearance quality. Load and fix the workpiece firmly on the fixture to ensure stable processing.
  3. Tool Setting and Program Debugging
    Install and calibrate cutting tools, set tool offset and workpiece coordinates. Test-run the CNC program to confirm no collision or processing errors.
  4. Formal Machining Production
    Start batch processing according to technical requirements. Monitor machine running status, cutting sound and tool wear in real time during operation.
  5. In-process Quality Inspection
    Check workpiece size, tolerance, surface finish and appearance periodically with calipers, micrometers and other measuring tools. Correct errors timely if dimension deviation occurs.
  6. Deburring and Finishing
    Remove burrs, sharp edges and cutting residues after machining. Polish and clean parts to meet finished product standards.
  7. Sorting, Labeling and Stocking
    Classify qualified products, label part numbers, quantities and production dates. Separate defective products for rework or scrapping.
  8. Machine Maintenance and Daily Cleaning
    Clean iron scraps and oil stains, replace cutting fluid if needed, maintain machine tools, turn off power and tidy up the workshop before off duty.
